Understanding Freeing the Pericardium
An approach rooted in experience
The Freeing the Pericardium is the result of the work of Montserrat GASCÓN, with over 30 years of research.
It is not based on a theory to which one seeks applications, but on a practical exploration of the body, the cells, and the way life circulates within us.
It is through observed results in practice that the core principles have emerged.
The Pericardium: The Central Point
The pericardium is the membrane surrounding the heart.
Due to its position and connections with all body systems, it is a central point in the circulation of life.
Observations have shown that:
-
It is affected by every shock or impactful experience, whatever its nature,
-
These impacts do not remain localized and can influence the whole body.
Blockages: Cellular Retraction
When an experience is lived with holding back, a cell changes the way it pulses.
It enters retraction: the natural movement of life reverses and becomes fixed.
These retractions can accumulate over time and affect tissues, organs, and systems.
What we call a "blockage" corresponds to this state of cellular retraction.
A Different Way of Approaching the Body
In this approach, it is not about correcting or forcing.
The work consists in recognizing what is present, exactly as it is, in the body.
This non-mental recognition allows the cell to regain its natural movement.
What Freeing the Pericardium Allows
Through attentive presence and simple gestures, the practitioner, the “liberator”, supports the cells toward expansion.
When this expansion is restored:
-
Movement resumes naturally,
-
Tensions can release,
-
A more direct relationship with oneself is restored.
The effects are not sought for themselves: they are a consequence of restored movement.
An Action Beyond the Physical
The Freeing the Pericardium acts at the cellular level, but its effects go beyond the body.
It can influence:
-
How we feel,
-
Reactions,
-
Behaviors,
-
And more broadly, the relationship to oneself and to life.
What is released in the body also frees us from fears, which are the source of holding patterns.
A Subtler Dimension
Beyond what is perceptible in the body, this approach opens a finer perception of life.
It allows one to sense what is happening beyond appearances: in presence, relationships, and environment.
This level is not an additional theory: it becomes perceptible when life’s movement is restored.
The Session
A session is carried out lying down, clothed, on a massage table, and lasts about 1 hour and 15 minutes.
The practitioner listens to the pulse of the cells, especially the pericardium, to recognize areas of retraction.
The only reference is cellular expansion: once restored, the blockage no longer exists.
All blockages contacted during the session cease to exist once it ends.

For Whom ?
The Freeing the Pericardium is for everyone, at any age.
It can support a variety of situations:
-
Physical or emotional tensions,
-
Stress,
-
Fears,
-
Periods of transition,
-
A need to regain movement,
-
…
